Claude Morris

(1908 - 1996)

Claude Morris

Claude Morris grew up in the days of Banjo Paterson, Henry Lawson and CJ Dennis so it is no surprise his style was influenced by the traditional masters of bush poetry. He wrote numerous poems throughout his life until the mid 1990's consistently developing his poetry writing techniques. Claude Morris can truly be named amongst the traditional masters as well as one of the contemporary master writers of modern bush poetry.

Claude Morris is considered by many as the bridge between traditional and contemporary bush poetry as he was one of a few writers who kept Australian bush poetry competing with a myriad of new forms of entertainment and was instrumental in its revival in recent years.

Claude Morris's Biography reads like a novel and an example of his works and sense of humour are depicted in A Grave Situation and A Rum Complaint as well as, the popular Commercial TV DTs recorded by Slim Dusty on a single and several times on albums.

The book The Legend of Angel Creek is $20.00 including postage
